Tips for hummingbird nectar
- Red dye is not necessary, and it may harm the hummingbirds.
- As long as there are no moldy sugars, extra sugar water may be kept in the fridge for up to two weeks.
- You may use tap water, however boiling is recommended to enhance the sugar’s dissolution rate.
- Hang feeders near to trees and in the shade.
- Every two days, clean and empty the feeders.
